WAGGA WAGGA CIRCUIT COURT.

MONDAY, 1st APRIL, 1872.

The Court opened this morning at 10 o’clock.
    The members of the legal profession present were—Messrs Windeyer, Crown Prosecutor; Pilcher, barrister; Williams, Fitzhardinge, Garland, and Gibbes, solicitors.

TUESDAY, 2nd APRIL, 1872.

    The Court opened at 10 o’clock.

BESTIALITY.

    John Moran was indicted for having at Adelong on the 18th of February, 1872, committed an offence of the above nature. Prisoner pleaded not guilty, and was undefended. The evidence in this case was altogether unfit for publication, but resulted in the withdrawal by the Crown Prosecutor of the capital charge, upon which, after a short consultation the jury found the prisoner guilty of an attempt to commit a horrible offence upon a mare. The prisoner was sentenced to two years’ hard labour in Goulburn gaol.

    The Wagga Wagga Circuit Court, the local papers state, was opened on the 1st inst, before his Honor Mr Justice Faucett.

    John Moran (the ‘Express’ says) was indicted for having at Adelong on the 18th February, 1872, committed bestiality. Prisoner pleaded not guilty, and was undefended.
