His Honour took his seat at 10 o’clock am.

George Henry Clucker [aka George Henry Cloeker]   was charged with this offence [bestiality with an ewe  sheep], and pleaded not guilty, and was undefended.

Sergeant Merrin deposed that he apprehended prisoner at Canowindra, and charged him with the crime, warning him at the same time, as to the necessity of being careful in whatever statements he might choose to make; he denied the charge.

Constable Chapman said he received prisoner into his custody from Sergeant Merrin.

Michael McGill, a storekeeper, said he knew prisoner whom he had seen near Woods’ Flat, and gave evidence as to the offence.

James Leech was in company with last witness on the 15th April last, but did not now corroborate his evidence, as to the particulars stated by McGill.

His Honour read over the evidence, and left the case with the jury, who retired, and on return brought in a verdict of guilty. Sentence one year in Bathurst gaol.
