ALBURY QUARTER SESSIONS.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 28.
(Before His Honor Judge Forbes.)

    This court was opened at the usual hour on Monday, Mr Pitcairn holding the briefs for the Crown.

TUESDAY, MARCH 1.

    On the opening of the Court Wan Goon and wife failed to put in an appearance. His Honor directed the prisoners’ recognisances to be estreated and a warrant to issue for their arrest.

UNMENTIONABLE OFFENCE.

    William Williams, on bail, was charged with attempting to commit an unmentionable offence [bestiality].  Prisoner pleaded not guilty, and was defended by Mr John Wilkinson. The following jurors were sworn:— E Arthur, P Martel, J Ellis, J Collins, HJ Burton, T Curley, A Hanell, J Smith, C Gehrig, J Sharp, G Garnett, P Devine.

    The evidence in this case was, of course, unfit for publication. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty.

TUESDAY, 1st MARCH.
(Before His Honor Judge Forbes and juries of twelve).
Crown Prosecutor: Mr Pitcairn.

ATTEMPT TO COMMIT AN UNNATURAL OFFENCE.

    William Williams, a young man, was charged with this offence, and pleaded not guilty. He was defended by Mr Wilkinson.

    The evidence in this case, which occurred at Bowna, on Saturday, the 23rd ult is unfit for publication.

    The jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged.
