    A man named William McIntosh has been committed for trial for committing an unnatural offence in Marino-street, Tamworth.

    Crown Prosecutor – GC Heydon.
    Associate – Mr Hubert Manning.
    Attorneys – Mr Ould (from the Crown Solicitor’s Office), J Palmer Abbott, Wm Smith, WF Tribe, R Dowe, and TM Newman.
    There were no barristers in attendance.

BESTIALITY.

    William McIntosh, was brought up and charged with bestiality. He pleaded not guilty, and had no means to procure legal assistance. Mr JP Abbott consented to prepare a defence for him.

BESTIALITY.

    William McIntosh was charged that he, on the 27th day of December, at Tamworth,  did commit an unnatural offence on a mare, the property of Stephen Weller.

    Evidence was given by—Constable John Christian, Stephen Weller, and Alexander McIntosh.

    Prisoner was defended by Mr Rodgers, instructed by Mr Abbott, assigned by the Crown.

    At the termination of the case, Mr Rodgers made a capital speech in defence of the prisoner.

    His Honor briefly summed up, and the jury, after an absence of about ten minutes, returned a verdict of not guilty.
