PRISONERS FOR TRIAL—The undermentioned prisoners are under committal in gaol to take their trial at the Court of Quarter Sessions to be holden at Bathurst on the 5th August:—John Angus, attempt bestiality; Thomas Slater, obtaining goods by means of valueless cheques (3 charges); Louis Britton, breaking, entering and stealing; William John Craig, stealing; Joseph Abdullah, sodomy.

BATHURST QUARTER SESSIONS.

MONDAY, AUGUST 5.
(Before Mr District Court Judge Docker.)
The Court opened at 10 o’clock, when the barristers present were— Mr Harris (Crown Prosecutor), Mr D Buchanan, and Mr W Edmunds. Clerk of the Peace, Mr WR Beaver. The solicitors present were— Mr SW Webb, Mr McPhillamy, Mr FB Kenny, Mr AG Thompson, and Mr Kenna (of Molong).

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6th.
His Honor took his seat at 9 am.
UNNATURAL OFFENCE.
John Angus was charged with attempting to commit an abominable offence upon a horse near Mitchell.
Prisoner was undefended.
The evidence was totally unfit for publication. His Honor briefly summed up the facts of the case, and the jury returned a verdict of guilty. Sentenced to 12 months.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6th.
(Before his Honor Judge Docker.)
His Honor took his seat on the bench at 9 o’clock.
ATTEMPTED ABOMINABLE OFFENCE.
John Angus was indicted for that he on the 29th April at Coolamitchel did attempt to commit an abominable offence.
Prisoner pleaded not guilty and was undefended.
The evidence was entirely unfit for publication, and after hearing it the jury returned a verdict of guilty.
Sentence: 12 months’ hard labour in Bathurst Gaol.
