    BINGARA, Wednesday.—The quarter sessions were opened yesterday before Judge Gibson. James Hadden, alias “Scotty,” charged with breaking and entering and stealing from a dwelling, was found guilty, and sentenced to two years’ hard labor. John Jenner, charged with intent to commit an unnatural offence, was found guilty, and sentenced to eighten [sic] months’ hard labor. John O’Connell, charged with wilfully killing sheep with intent to steal them, was acquitted.

    OFFICIAL APPOINTMENTS.—Constable Henry Hilder to be Clerk of Petty Sessions at Aberdeen, vice Higgins, resigned; Constable Albert Pope to be Acting Gaoler at Bingara gaol, vice Drew; Mary Ann Elizabeth Pope to be Acting Matron of the same gaol.
