    At the Bega Police Court, yesterday, before Messrs Braine and Greig J’sP, Joseph Spriggs, a groom, was committed for trial to the next Quarter Sessions for an unnatural offence.

    TENDER.—The following tenders were opened at the Court-house, Bega, yesterday, for the erection of a hand-rail on the bridge over Colombo Creek, at Colombo: John Walsh £17 10s, Jacob Nybeck £18 4s 9d, Wm Manning £23 9s.

BEGA QUARTER SESSIONS.

On Tuesday and Wednesday 2nd and
3rd October, 1897.

    JOSEPG SPRIGGS was charged with an unnatural offence, [bestiality], and was defended by Mr Bland. The jury consisted of Messrs WA Flowers, J Keollner junr, WHK Hickson, E Jamieson, D Heffernan, John McPaul, A Keollner, AA Wren, W Mussared, J Alcock, Jas McPaul and AL Munn. After hearing the evidence the jury retired for a few minutes and brought in a verdict of not guilty.
