ACQUITTED.
Peter Andrews was charged with having at Manly, on July 5, 1899, attempted to commit a serious offence, and William Phillips was charged with consenting to the perpetration of the offence. Accused pleaded not guilty, and where undefended. After hearing evidence for the prosecution and a denial of the offence by the accused, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and accused were discharged.
