    William Tarrant Broome, forgery and uttering (part heard); Norman Douglas assault a female under the age of 16 years and commit an act of indecency; Vincent Allard, to be mentioned, re proper. Jurors summoned to attend to-day- other than those engaged in the above part-heard case, will not be required until 12.30.

ACQUITTED.

    Norman Douglas, 18, fisherman, was charged with having indecently assaulted a little girl, aged 12 years and three months, at Sans Souci, on July 11. Mr Neil McTague (instructed by Mr Leslie Gannon) appeared for the accused.

    The accused denied all knowledge of the occurrence, and was subsequently acquitted and discharged.

INDECENT ASSAULT.

    Norman Matthew Douglas, 20, able seaman, was charged with having committed a serious offence upon Harry Bruce Jones, 44, steward, at Sydney, on October 1, and the latter was charged with having aided and abetted. The alternative charge was an indecent assault, both parties being involved.

    Mr ER Abigail appeared for Douglas and Mr WH Harris for Jones. Both of the accused were convicted upon the second charge, and each sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour.

TWO WORKMEN
INJURED

    Two men were admitted to hospital yesterday with injuries received while working.

    Hector Richard Hawke (43), mechanic, of Silcock-avenue, Tuart Hill, received a severe eye injury caused when he was struck on the face by a screwdriver.

    Norman Matthewson Douglas (46), armament worker, of Park-road, Byford, badly lacerated his right hand when cutting wood at the naval depot, Byford.

    Both men were taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
