THIS court was opened on Thursday morning by His Honor Judge Heydon.

    There was a large bar present, consisting of Messrs RJ Browning, Crown Prosecutor, Acland and Cowan (barristers), and Messrs Martin and Cowan (Taree), Rudder (Kempsey), and Banks-Smith, Dunn, and Melville (solicitors), Port Macquarie.

    Messrs James Butler, Deputy Sheriff, JY Butler, D Bain, and J Summerville, J’sP, were also on the Bench.

Friday, May 24.

    An aboriginal [Malcolm Smith, 14] was charged with bestiality at Wauchope.

    Mr RJ Browning prosecuted for the Crown, and Mr H Acland, instructed by Mr Banks-Smith, appeared for the defence.

    Accused pleaded guilty to the attempt.

    His Honor directed that the accused be sent to such reformatory school as may be directed by the Minister for a period of three years.
